Band Hopes to Purchase Bus Before Launching “The Heart Tour” Oct. 5, Tour Features Special Guests Shawn McDonald, The Royal Royal
HEART Released Globally On Integrity Music Sept. 3 Amidst 5-Star Acclaim
With The City Harmonic’s headline “The Heart Tour” scheduled to launch Oct. 5, the band members have launched a crowd funding campaign through Indiegogo (www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-city-harmonic) to purchase a new bus. The bus will replace the band’s current conversion van that has traveled over 300,000 miles, taking The City Harmonic and their songs “Manifesto,” “Mountaintop,” “Holy (Wedding Day)” and more to over 300 tour cities spanning North America over the last two years.
Set to play its fan favorites and new music from the band’s highly anticipated, five-star rated sophomore album HEART that released Sept. 3, “The Heart Tour” will feature Shawn McDonald and The Royal Royal, as well as welcome back Eric Fusilier. Bassist for The City Harmonic, Eric will be back on the road after being sidelined for nearly two years while battling cancer. Near the one-year anniversary of the stem cell transplant that saved his life, his cancer is in remission. “Having beat the cancer that nearly killed him, we would love for Eric to be able to return without hesitation to the ministry he helped to start. This might sound kind of ‘rock-and-roll,’ but with Eric recovering from his bout with cancer, sleep is an important part of his recovery,” says The City Harmonic frontman Elias Dummer explaining the need for the bus. “As married guys with kids, we’re also pretty excited at the potential for our families to be more involved in this ministry as well!”
Asking for help to raise a down payment through Indiegogo for a $70,000 bus that the band members have found (a bargain since tour buses can often cost hundreds of thousands of dollars), Elias continues, “By getting involved you’ll be helping to make it possible for Eric to return to the band, for our ministry to continue in a financially sustainable way, and for our families to spend more time together as we do it.”
Fans are able to donate as little as $1 up to several thousand dollars with commensurate gifts of appreciation from The City Harmonic. Incentives packages for fans who choose to help include an autographed copy of the band’s new album, HEART, and a download of the current radio single, “A City On A Hill,” which is gaining airplay across the U.S. and has become the band’s first video from the new album (www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2kl7tqpnY4&feature=youtu.be). The band is also offering a CityBus Exclusive HEART Tee Shirt and signed poster, VIP tour tickets, Skype and songwriting sessions with the band and even a full production private concert!
As The City Harmonic launch their CityBus campaign and plan for their tour, the band’s new album, HEART, is gathering significant acclaim. Already going to No. 1 in Canada and No. 4 in the U.S. on the iTunes® Inspirational and Christian & Gospel charts respectively, and named a RELEVANT “Editor’s Pick,” here is what the critics are saying about the album:
“If you’re only going to buy one album this year, I strongly suggest HEART…Every song is emotionally stirring and rooted in the Truth of God’s Word…every single believer needs to hear this album.” – NewReleaseTuesday.com (5-star review) “This album has rousing vocals, heart pounding lyrics and epic sounds that everyone who hears them will love…this album is truly stunning…the best album of the year.” – LouderThanTheMusic.com (5-Star Review)
“With the same piano-driven feel and mix of tempos and moods that ‘I Have A Dream’ offered listeners, HEART also adds a greater depth of feeling and passion. Sort of like the difference between standard Dairy Milk and Belgian chocolate, both great, but one of them is rather richer and deeper.” – CrossRhythms (10 out of 10 Review) “HEART is nothing less than breathtaking. Track one to fourteen is a journey of grief, hope, healing, celebration and salvation. The City Harmonic has once again given listeners something creative and fresh. It’s incredible to watch this band grow and mature into much more than just the average group of musicians – they’re helping to lead a charge of new anthems for a new generation.” – JesusFreakHideout.com (4.5 Star Review)
“HEART is an album to treasure… the band has once again delivered a hard-hitting alternative worship album that’s certain to please listeners…this Canadian four-piece band has taken every listener who has heard them (either live or studio albums) captive, with their soul-like vocal presence by Elias as well as their Brit-Rock infused musical backdrop throughout each of the tracks.” – IndieVisionMusic.com (4-Star Review)
The 14 songs on HEART build from where the band left off with its widely acclaimed, JUNO Award-winning I Have A Dream (It Feels Like Home). Reflecting life lived by the band members since their full-length debut, the new album shifts from the dream of what could and should be to the complexities of how to follow the true humanity of Christ’s example in the world.
Experiencing that complexity firsthand over the past two years, The City Harmonic members went from working day jobs to recording and touring full time. Aaron had his first child, Josh was married, Elias had his fourth child and Eric was diagnosed with cancer. In a very real sense, life set the context for HEART. Forming nearly four years ago, The City Harmonic is four worship leaders from four churches in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada that went from anonymity to widespread acclaim, headlining tours across North America and gathering numerous awards along the way. In addition to the Juno Award, the band has a Gospel Music Association (GMA)
New Artist of the Year Dove Award nomination, four GMA Canada Covenant Awards and nearly 3,000,000 YouTube channel views. The band’s “Manifesto” has sold well over 100,000 copies, marking the only song from a new artist in 2011 to break into the top 10 of the SoundScan Top Current digital singles sales chart.
